"If the Lord made anything better than a woman, he kept it for himself." - Jerry Lee Lewis

Welcome to our Lodging Page.

This page was prepared as a courtesy to visitors and those offering lodging....to aid in making your visit as convenient and memorable as possible...

If you'll scroll down you'll find website links to lodging in Upper Buffalo River Country....Some are listed singularly and others are joined in groups as one website. If you take your time you're bound to find something you'll like as well as some great hospitality...In case you're wondering...the links are just a courtesy....we receive nothing from your use of the link..the rates when reflected, are the actual rates of the location....

And we can assure you....your business and consideration is very much appreciated by all the people involved....

But first....let us tell you about our offering....High Meadow Pines....A cozy romantic hideaway that reflects your visit to the Buffalo with its river rock gas fireplace and river rock influenced tile floors and bath...as well as a remembrance of times gone by with tin backsplashes against black quartz countertops of the solid red oak kitchen with 8" crown moldings throughout and tiffany kitchen light and ceiling fan...yes....a tiffany lighted ceiling fan.

So.....use the fan or leave the windows open if you like...Listen to the sounds of spring peepers...or summer night birds and insects or just the sounds of woodland silence under a starry sky...

An oak beamed wall reminiscent of an old chinked log cabin serves as the backdrop for a four poster king size bed and a reminder of when this area was the frontier...an area deep with family histories and even Indian tribes.

From the colors used in the choices of linens...towels...quilts and yes....even flannel sheets...we wanted High Meadow Pines to be warm and inviting...comfortable...a place where you can relax...get away...have a base for bird or wildlife watching...explorations...bike riding or hiking....

We even rent an occasional canoe or kayak...imagine that...

And if it's romantic you want....you'll have to bring the company for the jetted tub for two or the big comfortable sofa to get lost in while you're enjoying a favorite CD or DVD....

Romance is important to us too and we'll be happy to do whatever we can to make your romance a success whether it's getting you a kite to fly...a basket for a picnic on a bluff or some special flowers from a florist in town...We know someone who might even suggest some linen spray or bubble bath...

It's situated in a grove of loblolly pines on a mountaintop overlooking adjacent meadows. The loblolly pine is the Arkansas State Tree and very important to a variety of wildlife...We see deer close by and frequently...and even a turkey or three....Although we can't promise you a bear...there are bear in the area...and elk not far down the road.....

To get to your retreat travel down a country lane where there are no streetlights and a view of the moon and stars from your large windows or outside among the pines and oaks is truly remarkable without the interference of harsh city lights....The large windows make the interior light and airy...and provide views that are both soothing and inspiring....

So sit back...relax in an adirondack chair with a good book or a good friend....Grab a nap or just lay back and have a conversation. You won't be bothered or interrupted. You'll have plenty of room and privacy too. Plan a picnic...put down the blanket...cook inside...outside or just dine alfresco at the picnic table while experiencing the sights and sounds of nature in this beautiful mountaintop setting.

Gaze into your campfire....it's so peaceful and quiet you'll have no trouble hearing it's hissing crackling sounds..Toast a marshmallow....smell the woodsmoke. Soak in the essence of the outdoors or the jetted tub for two while sipping a favorite beverage....Let the simple things become something special while you relax and unwind...savoring the moment and your company.
